the CULTURE MAP by Erin Meyer

This is a book I often return to for its clear and practical way of making cultural differences visible. By building a framework around dimensions such as communication, leadership, and trust, it provides a guide for navigating cultural differences in international business.

Hofstede maintains that an individual's core understanding of organizational management is profoundly influenced by their nation's cultural dimensions, which dictate the distribution of power and the approach to managing uncertainty.Book summary…

The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown

The Boys in the Boat is an inspirational story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times—it’s a story about how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant. Besides providing a good amount of detail into the mechanics of rowing and the amount of commitment required, I love how the importance of teamwork and alignment really comes to light here.
